Paris, France: A Tour de Force

Today was a Tour de Force of our remaining Paris monuments.  Jamiann would like me to inform you all that we walked for fourteen hours today.  Regardless, it was a lovely day and we saw a lot.  Since a picture is worth a thousand words (and we are very tired), here are a few quick highlights.  Above is the Sainte-Chapelle, a private chapel built in the 14th century for the kings of France to hear Mass in.  The stained glass windows, which are the majority of the walls, are 70% original and feature approximately 1300 scenes from the Bible.

Us in front of the Cathedral of Notre Dame.

After Notre Dame, we went to the Rodin museum--what an amazing sculptor!  This is Jamiann in front of one of Rodin's more famous pieces.  I made her pose in front of it because it perfectly captured her feelings about being in another museum...the sculpture is entitled The Gates of Hell.

We then made a quick stop by Galeries de Lafayette, Paris's largest department store.  This dome is its centerpiece.  Unfortunately, we only found two racks in eight huge floors that actually had any clothing we could afford.
One of our last stops on our tour of Paris is probably also the most iconic: the Eiffel Tower.  The view from the gardens approaching this World's Fair Exposition Piece is quite something.

We send our love from the decks of the Eiffel Tower!

We took a cruise on the Seine after climbing the Eiffel Tower to see the City of Lights by night.  It was the perfect way to cap off an absolutely beautiful day!
