Vienna, Austria: A Musical Sunday

We began our day with Mass at Vienna's cathedral, Stephansdom (St. Stephan's).  Since Mass was in German, I didn't really understand anything, but the music was absolutely amazing!  The Mass setting was a Mozart composition in D-minor, and there was a full choir, organ, and 20-piece orchestra there to perform it.  It definitely enhanced the experience.

After Mass, we explored downtown Vienna, which is architecturally very beautiful (see above).  We also got sausages from a street vendor for lunch--delicious!

After our exploration, we decided to further explore the music of Vienna: we toured Mozart's house and went to the Haus Des Musik, Vienna's music museum.  Both the house and the museum were very cool--lots of history and artifacts, and the museum had tons of interactive and scientific displays.  Both places were well-worth the visit.

We saw another night of Mozart and Strauss performed live at the Kunsalon, which was quite the unique experience.  Pictures and text really wouldn't do it justice--I'll have to tell you all about it in person as I see you.  Before the show, we grabbed a drink on the terrace of the concert hall, and Mom, I finally got my Aperol Spritz :-)
